Job Position:

Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher works with the Lead Teacher in helping the children through the day’s activities by providing a healthy, safe, nurturing, respectful, supportive, and responsive environment for every child in the classroom. He or she may set up and lead the children in certain activities, clean up the classroom, facilitate art projects, read books, watch over children during naptime and on the playground, as well as other actions/duties.

Salary Range:

$20-27 per hour, depending on education/experience

Job-Type:

PT or FT, depending on need

Qualifications:

Qualification #1:  Must be 16 years or older and have completed High School or the equivalent.

Qualification #2:  Must have documented child development education or work experience in the WA state “STARS” system within six months of hire.

Qualification #3:  Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal resident alien status and successfully pass a criminal background check.

Qualification #4:  Must meet all the state requirements for immunizations, first aid and CPR certification, as well as understanding the WA state rules around being a mandated reporter of any suspected child abuse or neglect.
